Today’s gig Under the Bridge!
Had a fantastically fun time today at our live gig in Lionheart! There were a couple hiccups, like at one point when I just forgot how Baj’s Reel went for a second, so we started over. And there were a few trips over lyrics here and there. All in all, though, we kicked ass. Xavion says he looks forward to having us back again.
After dinner, I did a little building for a while and almost lost track of time; fortunately Kero sent out an announcement about my fill-in shift which succeeded in reminding me about it. Also fortunately, I had a playlist ready to go. Pretty low turnout and I actually ended up losing money, but I don’t care. I had a nice night out, got to help Grizzy out, and had some fun and interesting conversation with Kero. After tipping the venue and Kero, I gave a bit more to the Love 146 jar. (By the way, those interested: Love146 Serendipity now has over 12k lindens to her name!)
Tomorrow we’re having Funky Feats at the pub, which is going to be fun (if past Funky Feats days are any indication).
“For shoppers, it will be business as usual as well.”
What in the name of cream cheese is that loud, shrill, beeping sound? Oh wait, I think I know what that is…
So, have ya heard yet? If you didn’t, here’s the rundown:
Today, we are pleased to announce the upcoming launch of a completely redesigned web-based shopping experience for Second Life, set to release in beta this summer, called Second Life Marketplace. Our goal is to continue to improve upon the work we’ve been doing on XstreetSL and provide an easy, enjoyable and more intuitive site for shoppers, which in turn will benefit Second Life merchants through the opportunity for increased traffic and sales.
–Pink Linden, May 3, here.

I have been remiss in posting, both in this blog and in Clover’s. Don’t you hate it when people post to say they haven’t posted in ages? It’s like, thank you very fucking much, Captain Obvious, I had no idea. You think, man, what a waste of time. What is this, Facebook or some shit? Say something, dumbass. Anything.
Waffle Iron. There.
Actually, let’s see, Mistletoe actually broke down and got new ears today. And I think they’re rather cute. I was able to tint them to match my skin perfectly. Curious Kitties. Good stuff. I also got a new skirt at PixelDolls today…
Fuck, this is turning into a fashion post. That’s even worse than a post saying I haven’t posted.
Someone bought a copy of The Wee Little Book of Irish Pub Songs today! Yes, that’s the latest book I’ve published under the Manic Elf logo. It’s wearable as a HUD, you can flip through the pages (surely you’ve seen this type of book in SL before, and if not, you should; they’re really cool) and read along to the 10 songs (with both words and music).
My friend Chernobyl suggests that I should market them in SL by way of “READ A BOOK, READ A BOOK, READ A MOTHERFUCKIN’ BOOK!” Heh, we’ll see. Even though it by itself is catchy and funny, the source is a bit more… shall we say, controversial than I’m interested in.
Lionheart’s Chamber of Commerce is compiling a Yellow Pages. I’ve sent in the ad for the Wee Little Irish Pub, and am getting one together for Clover’s Kitchen. I gotta say, I do good work. See for yourself:
For my next book idea I’m thinking of making a book of Real Avatars of Genius.
Help Me Tread on Trafficking!
I’ve mentioned Love 146 before. They’re an organization that fights child trafficking, and provides aftercare to survivors of trafficking. They’re doing a fundraiser called Tread On Trafficking over the next few months, and if you can, I’d love some help at raising my goal of $500 for this noble and critically important cause.
This is my Team Page. As you can see, I’m still looking for 4 more volunteers to join my team and help out.
In Second Life, the avatar Love146 Serendipity was created by me to collect lindens for Love 146. She’ll take your donation any time. Also if you’d like her to put up a Love 146 poster/collection jar at your place, send her an IM letting her know, and a Landmark of the site.
Thank you for helping me stamp out slavery!
