I met someone new in the village last night, like you do, and we got to talking. She told me at one point that I look adorable in my outfit, so I thanked her and mentioned that it’s at my shop and here’s my business card (hey, always at work). She complimented what things she saw of mine that I built and called me a wonder; she asked if I was a sort of guardian here and I explained that yes, His Lordship makes the rules, I enforce them. She seemed awe-struck. I chalked it up to a little bit of newbie adoration–and, god damn it, I DO do good work.

So I ran into her again today and I found out just why she was so amazed by me: she thought I was a child.

ABUH?!

We had a little pirate party down on the docks by the Green Dragon last night. Not the hugest attendance, but, we’re that much closer to having all our outstanding debts for the Spring Festival paid.

Whenever someone made a tip into the Festival tip jar, I’d fire off the cannons and thank them enthusiastically. Everyone who showed up was given a tricorne hat with striped scarf (except Latis, who already had a supercool hat, and Cate who just didn’t want a hat).

Updated some info at the Spring Festival post. Map showing the proposed layout has been added; more to come later.

If SL were high school, I’d be the geeky girl with the sketchbook and notebook full of bad poetry. I make this statement based on who I actually was in high school. Anyway, one day I’m scribbling in my sketch book during study hall and one of the popular kids who sits across the table sees the design. A day or two later, when I go to sell tickets to the homecoming dance (because of course I’m not there for the dance itself), I glance into the gymnasium and see that it’s decorated in a way that was inspired by my little doodles in my sketchbook! It’s not identical, of course; they took it in their own direction. But I get this rush of pride knowing that I did something that was an inspiration to the popular kids.

That’s how I felt when I saw this post, which went up a day or two after I made and posted this and this. I feel like the geeky little elf with the sketchbook inspired the popular kids with the big blog. And that feels pretty damn good.

Today starting at noon at the Northfarthing Marketplace, it’s an auction featuring over 150 items! You could get a HUGE bargain on artworks, furniture, fountains, animations and dances, adult toys & furniture, men’s and women’s clothing ranging from the silly to the sexy to the suave, holiday decorations, skins, hair, books, weapons & armor… bidding starts at NOON today, and ends late tonight.

Proceeds from the auction go toward our upcoming Spring Festival. So come on out today, starting at noon, for a shot at some amazing stuff for ridiculously low! See you there!

Happy Saturday to you all! Come and celebrate the weekend a little early with us as Northfarthing’s “house band”, Cat Agus Cu, plays live at the Green Dragon Inn starting at 12 Noon SLT (3 Eastern). Enjoy an hour of Irish and Scottish traditional music: jigs and reels, drinking songs, and cry-in-your-ale ballads and slow airs, played by Mistletoe Ethaniel and her RL husband Archimides Skytower. If you haven’t heard Cat Agus Cu before then you are in for a real treat. If you have, then bring your friends along and introduce them!

About the venue: Northfarthing is a non-gorean medieval sim. No public displays of slavery are permitted. Medieval/Renaissance/Fantasy attire is welcome and encouraged, but not required. But please wear something kthx. Northfarthing is a Mature sim, so please act mature.

Northfarthing is a non-Gorean medieval sim; public acts of slavery are prohibited. Period-appropriate clothing, while highly encouraged, is not required. This will be an all-ages festival. Hope to see you there!

I have been one busy elf today. Got a bunch of items ready for Stuff I Don’t Want Anymore (coming up this Sunday) and booked three performers for the Spring Festival next month (two of them I even paid already!). I’ve still got to blog about the event itself. Keep an eye.

The Greatest Love Hunt is still going strong. I’m meeting several new visitors a day. Sales have picked up a bit and I was able to get rent in early.

So… yeah. Busy. But in a good way.
