This afternoon, (Noon SLT) Archimides and I are playing our first ever gig in SL. It’s going to be via voice chat (groan) but maybe we’ll do well enough in tips today to get us on the way to our own audio stream. Here is a link to the venue location.
Note that it is a Medieval (non-Gorean) sim; they’re pretty laid back about RP but would appreciate a reasonable attempt at medievalish clothing if you can.
August 2 & 3, 2008.
Faire runs from 9AM-9PM both days.
Attractions will include:
Two stages of live entertainment
A gypsy/belly dancing encampment
A haunted dungeon
Tea with the Princess, and tours of her castle
Fireworks
Souvenirs: pennants, t-shirts, balloons
A food and drink stand
Contests and tournaments for prizes
A Kissing booth
Merchant tables and booths
All proceeds raised will be going toward the purchase of a new sim. That’s right: Northfarthing is expanding! So many people want to move in that poor DonPaul just doesn’t have the room or prims for them all!
We need people for this fair. We need merchants, we need performers, we could stand some more organizers, we need donated items. And we need guests! We need people to come and enjoy the fair, to meet the good people of Northfarthing, and help us to expand.
The festival kicks off at 9AM SLT Saturday with a parade, and runs 9-9 both days.
Look me up in SL for a full program of the festivites!
Yesterday I was on a quest for fair rides and attractions that could be employed for not a lot of Lindens in a medieval-type fair. My search led me to a place called Prim Hearts (search it up, it’s awesome!). As I’m walking around the amusement park, checking out the features and having a great time playing–I mean researching–on the rides, I meet a tiny little faery no higher than my hip, with pretty red butterfly wings, stuffing her face with popcorn, and she asks me if I want to go on the bumper cars with her. I almost collapsed from cuteness. Unfortunately I didn’t go on the bumper cars but I do hope she found someone to play on them with.
